Gymnastics leotards
Gymnastics leotards were first invented by French acrobatic
performer, Jules Leotard. Even though the name didn’t catch on
until many years after his death, it quickly became the standard apparel
for gymnasts, acrobats, actors and circus performers.
Today, there are many different styles of gymnastics leotards,
including:
• Short-sleeved
• Long-sleeved
• Sleeveless tanks
• Camisoles
• Halters
It’s very important to try gymnastics leotards on before buying
them to make sure they fit. There’s nothing more uncomfortable
that an outfit that’s too tight and constricts breathing. Baggy
clothing may also be dangerous and obstructive while performing technical
acrobatics.
